Ragi Ambuli (Koozhu)



Summer has started in Arizona,to keep my body cool iam making Ragi Ambuli (Koozhu).This is a dishe made in Villages.Usually it is made in a pot & stored outside,but now iam storing it in fridge.
Ingredients
Ragi flour-1/2 cup
Cooked rice-a hand full
Salt to taste
Butter milk -3 cups
Water to cook the ragi mixture
Onion chopped-1/2
Method
Dilute ragi with little water & curd overnight for fermentation (to give a sour taste).Bring water to a boil (4 cups).Pour the ragi mixture & rice stir it well so it doesn't have lumps.Cook it well.(To check whether your ragi is cooked wet your finger & dip it in the hot ragi mixture.If it doesn't stick to your finger then its done).Remove from heat cool it mix it with onion,salt & butter milk.Serve it with onion,chillies & pickle.
Tips
Non.vegetarians can have it with my Nethili meen Kuzhambu. & murungaikeerai poriyal

  4. I did n 't know making ragi kuzh is easy. First time here, nice blog, surely wi will try, i have ragi flour sleeping in my freezer.
