Arisi parupu sapadu


This is a very famous dish in Coimbatore,its very easy to make.
Ingredients
Rice-1 cup
Masoor or Thoor dhal-1/2 cup
Turmeric powder-1/2tsp
Salt to taste
Tomato-1
Lima beans-1/4cup(optional)
Small onions-1 cup
or Big onion-1/2
Curry leaves-little
Crushed garlic-5
Tempering
Oil -6tsp
Mustard-1tsp
Jeera-1/2tsp
Uraddhal-1tsp
Channadhal-1tsp
Hing-1/4tsp
Red chilles-6
Method
Heat oil in a pressure cooker temper it.Add onions,curry leaves,tomato,lima beans & garlic.Fry it well.Add the dry ingredients,pour water and cook it till done.It is a whole dish so there is no need for a side dish.But i serve it with raita & pickle.
